Rev. Linda Rogge-Rubingh, M.Div, LSW

Linda works and writes about the healing power of sharing our personal faith stories. She loves building platforms of welcome and safety for youth here and all over the world, where they can tell their stories, experience healing from trauma, and grow spiritually. 

Linda is the co-founder of New City Kids, a music-focused afterschool program partnering with youth in underserved communities, which she started with her husband, Trevor, in Jersey City, NJ in 1994. New City Kids is the recipient of numerous awards including the 2022 MacKenzie Scott Foundation award, the William E. Simon Foundation award, and a three-time recipient of the White House Presidential Recognition as one of theTop 50 After School Centers in the nation.

Linda is currently Co-Executive Director of New City Kids: Grand Rapids and directs the Brighter Day groups and classes addressing Adverse Childhood Experiences. In 2023 Trevor and Linda launched New City Networks, partnering with organizations in countries like Ghana, South Africa, Guatemala, Kenya, Cuba, and more to develop sustainable youth programs focused on music and employment, impacting hundreds of youth worldwide.

Linda holds master’s degrees from Princeton Theological Seminary and Rutgers University School of Social Work, is an ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church (USA), and a Licensed Social Worker (NJ), with additional certification in Violence Against Women and Children, and Trauma-Informed Play Therapy.

I Love to Tell the Story is a beautifully diverse compilation of 25 personal faith stories from individuals all over the world, telling how each person met Jesus and his love. Written for children ages 6-10, the book encourages young readers to also meet Jesus personally, and experience the depth of his love for them and for “every nation, tribe, and tongue.”
